ENCOUNTERING THE DARK GODDESS

RECONNECTING WITH OUR SACRED SEXUALITY

AND POWER AS WOMEN

Using a slide presentation, we will explore the roots of the ancient myths of Lilith and Medusa. Lilith, haidmaiden of Inanna (in Sumer) and, in later Hebrew mythology, the first wife of Adam, teaches us about our longing for deep mutuality in relationship, and the Gorgon Medusa holds the secrets of the ancient blood mysteries and of women's sacred power. Both guide us to a deeper understanding of the sacredness of our sexuality and about our deep cycles of transformation.

In a workshop, we will dive further into our exploration of Lilith and Medusa and look at how they enter into our lives. We will examine the place of the Dark Moon Lilith and the star, Algol (the eye of Medusa), in our birth charts and what meaning the energies of these Dark Goddesses hold for us personally. Working in sacred ceremony, we will enter into an encounter with the Dark Goddess in seeking her wisdom and guidance in our lives.

Facilitator: Heather Ensworth, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, astrologer, and shamanic practitioner. She has worked in sacred circles of women for more than 17 years. She is committed to exploring and teaching ancient wisdom and healing practices for our own healing and the healing of the Earth.
